Tournament Dates:

  • March 24th– 28th,  2026

Tournament Location:

The Playmakers Tournament:

  • is dedicated to players 55 and over with
    • 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ and 80+ age divisions for men.
    • 50+ and 60+ age divisions for woman
  • is a participation tournament guaranteeing 3 games/team consisting of two 21-minute stop time periods.
  • is a participation tournament thus there are no standings
  • Playmakers runs Tuesday through Saturday.  All teams should be prepared to play on any of these days with a few exceptions as listed on the Team Registration page on our website.
  • The total number of teams for our tournament has been set at 48.

To register:

  • Teams MUST register on-line via our website: Team Registration is a drop-down menu under the “Info for Team Managers” tab on the main page.
  • The tournament registration fee is $1100.00 Canadian payable by e-transfer (preferred) or by cheque payable to Victoria Playmakers. Payment instructions can be found on the Website on the Tournament Payment page.
  • As registration is on a first-come basis it is recommended that you register and submit registration fees early to guarantee a position in the division of your choice.
  • Refunds, minus a $200.00 processing fee, will be returned to teams that notify the Registrar no later than January 15, 2026 that they are unable to attend.

Team Rosters:

  • Rosters must be submitted alphabetically by last names and by the February 14, 2026 deadline so that the roster can be provided to the publisher.
  • Submit team rosters using the Team Roster menu tab on this website.
  • Teams are requested to assist by submitting rosters sooner than later.

Individual Players:

  • Team Managers are reminded that Playmakers has a Spares Coordinator. His list of available spares usually covers all age divisions. If you are short of players and having difficulty filling your team roster, please submit the request form Do you need additional players for your team? This form is located under the For Team Managers Tab.
  • Our Spares Coordinator will attempt to assign players to teams and assist team managers requiring extra players. Our Spares Coordinator will contact you if there is a possible Spare for you.

Knighting Certificate:

  • Players being “Knighted” are to complete the online form on the Hall of Fame Application tab or email the information to knights@victoriaplaymakers.ca no later than February 14th, 2026
  • Questions concerning “Player Knighting” may be directed to Butch Boucher at 1-250-658-4279 or knights@victoriaplaymakers.ca.

Local Accommodation & Transportation:

  • Teams needing accommodation are requested to book directly with one of our Playmaker partner hotels shown on our website and ask for Victoria Playmakers Group Rate. In booking directly, the Playmaker Organizing Committee receives a small commission from each hotel that help subsidize the costs of hosting the tournament.
  • Also, our website www.victoriaplaymakers.ca identifies airline partners offering discounts to registered Playmaker hockey teams.

Associated Tournament Activities  

  • A beer garden will be operating throughout Playmakers in Green Arena lobby.
  • A banquet on Thursday evening March 26th, takes place which includes the presentation of a “Knighting” certificate for first time players over 70 yrs old, a “Hockey Exemplar” certificate for players over 80 yrs old and also a “Hockey Exemplar Itas” certificate for players over 90 yrs old. 
  • Each registered player also receives a participation gift.

Important dates to remember:    

  • December 15th, 2025: Submit your Team Registration form to the Tournament Registrar. A deposit is not required at this time however we encourage you to pay upon registration so as not to forget and loose your spot.
  • January 15th, 2026: Final Registration and Playmaker payment ($1100) due date. Last date to withdraw and receive a refund if you paid the registration fee early.
  • January 31st, 2026: Game schedule will be posted on website: www.victoriaplaymakers.ca
  • February 14th, 2026: Team Roster submission deadline.
  • February 14th, 2026 Hall of Fame “Knighting” application deadline.
